A senseless open door policy on our border that Biden created unnecessarily.

What makes you think I don't have an interest in it? I like open wheel cars.

Yes, me too. I crashed it and took to the ground with the COX .049 powered dune buggy and an Army jeep that I rigged to pull a Big Bang cannon. Good old days.

Nah, the discussion got boring.

The other races I like are the prototypes.

I like series that have all or most of the American manufacturers. NASCAR used to be I-T it when it came to popularity until Chrysler walked away. That sucked.
It's become a spectacle now, they're even trying to hang someone from a garage door pull rope. OMG! RACIST!!
I really like the road course racers too. I have a replica of an old one.

I could go on about drag racing, but you should know what I mean.

Yeah, I know about drag racing. It's where I lived for some years and used to hang with Don Prudhomme at the track. I like Formula 1 and try and keep up.

Those F-1 cars are probably the most technologically advanced (not necessarily the fastest) cars on the planet. Each car has it's own engineering team.

And you've just hit on why I find modern racing a little grating: it's not about man and machine anymore; that sense of feeling your engine and your car: that sense of touch... It's all bout computers and their protocols and what rates they're trying to hit. The drag tracks have lost 300 feet, which is why they're running 4 seconds now and the cars don't really smoke the tires anymore. It makes older guys like me wish for the competitive old days.

I'm with you. I'm an auto enthusiast. I'm a Ford man. If there's a race and a Ford is in it I watch. I don't care who's driving, I want a Ford to win. I like road course racing, Don't matter what's in it.
Yeah, all the computers take the mechanic and driver pretty much out of it. A few years ago the Grove had the Nostalgia Funny Cars and Gassers. Those things were so cool, and primitive. Sitting with a transmission and a real clutch between your legs starring at an unsecured blower. Them guys had balls. I like today's horsepower, but not the electronics and timers.
