A Theology Question

The claim that human ethical traditions came only through and because of biology and evolution was not an idea that originated in your mind. It's been around for ages. Richard Dawkins made a career writing about it.

The fact is there are no geniuses on this forum who are independently coming up with their own brilliant, original, landmark ideas.

We are reading college textbooks, articles, books, listening to subject matter experts, reading science journalism and filtering it through our own experience to decide for ourselves which ideas and concepts make the most sense to us.

You'll only contact God through personal revelation either by being called or chosen!
You can go to all the churches ,read all the books, talk to all bishops, priest,Popes,Pastors you can find, you won't find God! You'll be what you are now ,on the outside looking in! While insulting Holy Spirit filled believers as
Mentally ill!

Organized Religion has few Holy Spirit filled followers and organized religion scares more away from a personal relationship with God!
How do you describe your relationship with God? Do you recommend it to others or is it more of an acquired taste that's not for everyone?

Somewhat ironic. Cypress thinks he hears his experts speak as his own voice.

I'm honest about how my are ideas shaped through what I have been reading, my educational training, research of subject matter experts, etc.

You on the other hand seem to think the idea of human ethics from biology and evolution is an original idea that sprang from your mind. It didn't. You got the idea from reading articles by Richard Dawkins or other experts and scholars who thought up the idea ages ago.

If this god doesn't want everyone to be happy, why would we worship it?
Stupid question. Marxism wants nobody to be happy, and stupid leftists flock to worship like it's their personal salvation. Religions of anger, HATRED and intolerance that demonize happiness are more popular today than ever, e.g. Global Warming, Climate Change, Socialism, DNC, the Planned Parenthood Church of Latter Day Killing Convenience, etc...

Why would anybody worship an allegedly omnipotent god who didn't make a substantially better effort at creating the universe?
Exactly. Why would anybody worship an allegedly omnipotent oligarchy/party whose underlying dogma has always failed and has always brought misery and death to its countless worshipers and nonworshipers alike?

While minding my own business I was Chosen! I didn't want anything to do with it! But once Chosen there's no way out!
I think everyone would be better off having the Holy Spirit, but be prepared that you are giving up control of your life.

I sense you are an autodidact who never took a philosophy class. You have amassed a very broad knowledge of these topics through your extensive reading but you really have a problem with debating points.

One of the best parts of the philosophy classes I took in college was being asked to debate a point. Not just accept it because some philosopher said it. But to consider taking an opposing view of something and exploring that.

Debating with you is often somewhat uncomfortable because you take offense easily and when pushed into a corner defend yourself by simply listing authorities or books you've read.

You are easily the most interesting poster on here in terms of content but you seem to brook little disagreement.

You've confused organized religion run by man with lip service to God.
With a personal experience with God's Spirit the Holy Spirit

Is that a problem on your end? Will you simply not acknowledge genius when you encounter it? Will you simply not recognize brilliant ideas? Are you personally too stupid to learn?

We are reading ... science journalism ...
What do you believe that is? Give me an example.

For myself I call it just that

I don’t have an organized religion but the more you pray and walk in the footsteps of Jesus the closer you get to God

If you are faithful to that you eventually get to a place where you trust God completely to take charge of every aspect of your life and all your worries disappear

That is where I am at now but it’s taken decades of worship but it’s a beautiful thing

So, you never married or dated? People are putting you to death? What else do you NOT follow of Jesus?

I fully admit that I am still waiting to be "chosen.".

Hey, could you do me a favor and just ask God the next time the two of you are communicating whether he might have accidentally skipped over my number? I'd appreciate it. Most organizations post an email address or phone number for those who have questions, but God remains unlisted. I don't have any other way of finding out.

That's exactly what Mason is claiming he does.

My diagnosis is schizophrenia.

Words have standard definitions, I don't see how speaking with God was conflated with being inspired by God.

In the 21st century, one is a symptom of schizophrenia, the other is a reflection of religious devotion
