Restitution is part of our criminal code, both state and federal. One serial criminal here in Arizona owes me nearly $2000 as ruled by the courts for stealing my son's first car. I'm not likely to ever see it as this asshole keeps getting rearrested and convicted of crimes so he's always in prison where he has a track record of misconduct.
