About the green movement and global warming...

quite a lot of stuff thats not h2o in city water.

you will remember acid rain I'm sure. industry from quite far off can deposit its crap on your ground which wil make its way to your water table.
you are in a fairly good spot but anything happening to your west is a threat. annual testing is a worth wild insurance policy.

It sure is, and thanks. Acid rain did a huge destructive number on both the Great Lakes themselves, and the area around them. People are still not recommended to eat large amounts of fish caught from Lake Michigan, for example, due to mercury deposited from dirty coal.

yup. that stuff hangs around forever. almost literally.
we had a toxin released into Virginia waterways many years ago and made its way into the seafood and related flora/fauna.
My brothers and Dad had gone charter fishing in the Chesapeake Bay just before the story broke, caught our limits in fish and had to destroy all of them.
I'm a conservationist at heart but see no conflict with conservastism.
I'm not too comfortable with any food coming out of China. They still use primarily coal for power so the mercury is a real threat.

I hear you and do not buy it either. Let's all hope that they do not repeal the country of origin labeling regulations.

I also don't eat shrimp or other seafood from the Gulf, since the BP disaster in 2010.

this can be rather sneaky as they discovered in the dogfood that was killing dogs a couple years back.
the food itself was manufactured here but certain components were sourced from China and thats what was behind it all. Thats a tricky one to sort out.

seafood is a real problem since all the oceans are full of nasty stuff. off the coast of Cali right now is getting really bad with all those ships sitting there idling and leaking.

Things we don't think of when we whine about our stuff not being on store shelves.

Not to mention the direct dumping of God knows what (in addition to the raw sewage) Mexico is doing in Baja.
No wonder those spiney lobsters they sell south of the border are so cheap and plentiful. Prolly a miracle they dont glow.
San Diego is pretty close to there. I worry about my cousin who lives there.

They are not idling. Leaking what?

Raw sewage is fish food.

Then there's the huge plastic raft floating out in the Pacific. And the radioactivity from Fukushima.

There is excellent fishing in Lake Michigan.

Apparently you don't know where mercury comes from, or that it's heavier than water. Deposits are found in almost any deep lake.

Doesn't bother the fish any. They are still good eating.

If you handle coal, wash your hands. The black stuff comes off pretty easily. It's called 'carbon'. It's an element shown on the periodic table of the elements.

Might as well give it up, Mr. Fellati... er Fallacy. Unread, never will be either.

What plastic raft? What is the name of this vessel?
YOU are receiving more radiation from the Sun and cosmic rays than anyone living in Japan is receiving from Fukushima.
You are beset with radiation.
