Normal? No it isn't 'the norm'. Natural? It crosses over into several different species and there is much evidence to suggest that it genetic, so yes it is natural. Healthy? I don't see why it wouldn't be any less physically or psychologically healthy then being heterosexual.

But that's not the issue at hand. The issue at hand is how is the AMA lying about marijuana now?

Normal... no, given the bulk of the population is heterosexual, it is not normal for a person to be gay.

Natural... while there is no gay or straight gene, it does appear to be natural given that you will find homosexual behavior in many species.

Moral... purely an opinion, either way

The Schedule I federal classification of cannabis — which states that, by law, the marijuana plant and its natural compounds have “no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States” — has long since passed the point of farcical. Nevertheless, defenders of the so-called “Schedule I lie” have possessed, for nearly 30 years, one prestigious ally that they could always rely on to endorse their absurd position: the American Medical Association.

Not anymore!

Today the AMA voted to reverse its longstanding endorsement of cannabis’ Schedule I prohibitive status. The vote took place during the organization’s annual Interim Meeting of the House of Delegates in Houston, Texas, and marks the first time that the AMA has revisited its position on cannabis in eight years.

As newly amended, the AMA’s official position (see specifically pages 12, 13, and 14) regarding the medical use of cannabis no longer “recommends that marijuana be retained in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.” Rather, the Association now resolves “that marijuana’s status as a federal Schedule I controlled substance be reviewed with the goal of facilitating the conduct of clinical research and development of cannabinoid-based medicines.”

The AMA also today demolished long-held pot prohibitionist claim — frequently publicized by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and others — that “no sound scientific studies have supported medical use of smoked marijuana for treatment in the United States, and no animal or human data support the safety or efficacy of smoked marijuana for general medical use.” To the contrary, the AMA has adopted a report drafted by its Council on Science and Public Health (CSAPH) entitled, “Use of Cannabis for Medicinal Purposes,” which states, “Results of short term controlled trials indicate that smoked cannabis reduces neuropathic pain, improves appetite and caloric intake especially in patients with reduced muscle mass, and may relieve spasticity and pain in patients with multiple sclerosis.”

I don't support reducing the schedule of marijuana because any placement on the schedule is stupid.

It would be OK if they reduced it to schedule 4 or 5 OTC, though.

Natural: occurring in conformity with the ordinary course of nature [m-w.com] If its not normal, then how is it natural?

Morality, in our Judea-Christian culture, is not up for debate.

Healthy? AIDS is one example. Anal penetration is another. Mix that with fellatio and you have a third.

AIDS was originally brought by heterosexuals to America and can still be transmitted just as easily through them as through homosexuals, so your argument falls flat there. As for anal/oral it also occurs in hetero sexual couples and has for centuries.

All you do nowadays is argue against homosexuality. What does the AMA's reclassification of marijuana have to do with two men/women having sex together?

Again, it's may have been observed in nature, but so hasn't lots of odd things if you look long enough. The bottom line is that its not normal behavior, so it's not natural.

AIDs was transmitted by acts of sodomy, of which queers engage in exclusively with each other, along with the other unhealthy aspects that I outlined previously.

1) It does occur within the ordinary course of nature you moron. That is why you see if found in multiple species. If it was simply people 'choosing' to be gay, you would not find the behavior in other species. If you don't know the difference between normal and natural then you should cease making a fool of yourself by commenting on the topic.

2) This country was founded with freedom of Religion. While the judeo christian beliefs are certainly a large part of our culture, our founders made sure that people in the majority would not dictate morality to those with different religious beliefs. Thus, unless you are saying that we should all piss on the Constitution and the freedom that our founders fought for... then morality is most certainly up for debate.

3) FYI.... heterosexual people also get AIDs.

Heterosexual couples also engage in oral sex and sodomy. Heterosexual couples can also contract AIDs through intercourse. Heterosexual couples can also get AIDs by donating blood.
