America becoming more liberal, voting more Republican

You claimed the constitution requires widespread support.

It says nothing of the kind. It says nothing about winning a majority of states.

The only legal requirement is to win a majority of the electoral college, Which legally could be done just by winning the most populous states, while losing in a majority of states.
no, thats just the natural result of the electoral college model.

This is how it always is, when the older generation dies, the populace takes a large step forward. Racism is dying, homophobia is dying, the death penalty is dying, drugs are becoming legal. As the baby boomers die, it’s more exaggerated than usual because they are such a large group of the populace, but we are moving forward, always.

we all die and you all eat each other as the freebies run out, of course you might die of being fucking lazy first.....LOL

Or, we prosper. It happens every generation, the old shits are sure the next generation is going to destroy the world.

I’m shocked so many are too stupid it’s been going on for centuries, the old farts are always wrong.

Leftist =/= Liberal

That is, the Progressive Left is becoming more prominent in America and as they do, the non-Left liberal moves away from them towards the rest of the country in opposing their bullshit and totalitarian nonsense.

Its called abuse.

Please do attempt to call things what they are, it really is the least you can do.

Americans are generally much more liberal than they were 50 years ago, with public views taking a decidedly liberal slant in the 1990s, a new study finds. Despite that shift, researchers from New York University note these changes in public sentiment aren’t translating into today’s politics.
Why? While the average American may be more liberal today when it comes to topics such as gender, sexuality, race, and personal liberty than in the 1970s, views on polarizing issues like gun control, taxes, and abortion have largely remained the same. Study authors state these polarizing issues still sway voting decisions in a major way.

“America is a more liberal country now than it was 50 years ago,” says study author and NYU sociologist Michael Hout in a university release. “But its politics do not reflect this because polarizing attitudes and behaviors changed less than either values or lifestyles.”

So Americans are so confident in the historical tide of liberalism and progressivism always advancing, they know even Republicans can't stop it.

When this board first started, one of the most significant and recurring debates was gay marriage.

No one even bothers to object to it anymore.

They got their inch and are trying to take a mile, as predicted.

So what say you Jarod? Are the people who say what I posted over exaggerating and just don’t understand that racism is really dying out?

It still exists, but is dying out. Getting better for sure. More institutional for sure.

The Republican party is much more liberal than it was 50 years ago.

What do you mean its dying out? What are you using as your basis for making that statement?

(If you as a white male stood in front of a largely minority audience and tried to tell them 'racism is dying out' you would be every dentist in America's favorite person due to the increase in business you would bring them as a result of the number of jaws that would be broken after hitting the floor at lightning speed in shock.)

Overt racism, lynching black people on the street for spectacle was worse than not giving black people professional jobs. That is what I mean. It is (way to slowly) getting better.

Ok. Lynching hasn't really been a part of the American fabric for quite awhile. This isn't new. (Others will argue what the police do and what happened to Trayvon Martin and Ahmad Aubrey were all lynchings and are overt racism.) But racism consists of far more than just people being lynched. Just a strange statement to say racism is dying because we don't lynch people in town squares anymore.

and that is rendering the democrat party more obsolete.

Yes, and less important, but the times will change again, and the Conservatives will be late to the party again.

That’s the pattern.

Liberals push progress, and conservatives reluctantly follow.

I guess it all depends on your perspective of the time horizon, it is slowly dying. Segregation was only 50 years ago, now we have some de facto segregation, but even that’s being attacked. We have serious issues with some systematic racism and institutional racism, but that won’t last another 50 years. Way too slow, but it’s Progress.

liberals buy votes the government cannot afford. conservatives fix that (sometimes)
