And they don’t understand why Kapernick took a knee.

So?

It's a strawman. That guy is going to be tried & convicted. Easy.

The cops? If that wasn't on video, they probably walk, and still have their jobs.

I don't understand why people always try to find "comparable" black crimes. When have black people ever evaded justice? The black community has been on the wrong side of the justice system for my entire life. I doubt anyone like me (white) can imagine what that is like - to always be pulled over more, treated with more suspicion, assumed to be guilty.

Give me a friggin' break w/ the "where is the outrage on this individual crime" stuff.

On the TV show America's got talent last night a Black man served 37 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

DNA exonorated him.

He watched america's got talent TV in prison and always wanted to be on the show.

It was a moving performance. Not a dry eye in the audience.

A stupid, lazy, MF like sailor and nomad would have unsuccessfully tried to kill themselves in prison because they are weak......

They are cowards who use the kops to fight their battles. I bet a dollar to a donut they wouldn't confront a Black man to his face without a gun or a kop.

They would have been prison bitches jacking off with their own little dicks.......

They envy Black men because they can't hold a candle to them.

And you think liberals and Democrats are somehow different and don't do the same sh*t people on the right do?

As a liberal I've probably been more criticized as unpatriotic than you are as a conservative. Not just for issues like the flag salute or the anthem, but for bigger things like not supporting the Iraq war.

Good point. But then isn't *everything* a patriotism test these days?

Yes. And RWs think they're the ones permitted to set the standard and hold everybody to it.
Yea. It started when Bush was banging the drums of war, and fabricating intel in order to invade Iraq. Anyone who told the truth about WMD, or dared to suggest that the invasion was wrong, was deemed 'unpatriotic'.

If you weren't driving around with a (Chinese made) American flag clipped to your car window, you weren't patriotic.

The 'I fought for your freedoms, and I'm insulted that you kneel during the anthem' idiots never like to hear about those who fought, but were denied basic human rights when they got home. You know...the same people who are being murdered in the streets.

It's nothing more than a tradition that began at the1918 World Series. It is not a test of your patriotism. But one should show respect for the nation that has bestowed so many freedoms on you.
But if one wishes to show disrespect for the nation they should be prepared for the consequences.

Blacks have no freedom in this country.......hence we kneel.

You do realize the kneeling is about those whose freedoms are being abused?

Or do you think that's fake news?

I was responding to the idea that its patriotic to speak out against our leaders but people on the right only think it is when a D is in charge. I find it very difficult to believe that we have a number of 'experienced' people on this board that have been through multiple Republican and Democratic Administrations and don't see that each side does the same b.s. when they are in power and when they are out of power. There may be sightly different elements to it but it's essentially the same tribalism.

The irony is Libertarians have railed on the War on Drugs, the militarization of the police and the over crowding of prisons for decades yet they get no support. At the end of the day when you place loyalty to a political party over results things don't change.

Edit: And I'll go back to the police unions being the biggest roadblock for reform. A quick google search show will show a number of liberal groups writing about that. But it's a conundrum because they can't speak out against unions.
Another misconception is that most dims believe libertarians are some kinda far right sect of the republican party.

Exactly. To most of us, standing up and protesting like Kaep did is civil disobedience, but to Rs it's treason.
He can do what he wants. Personally, I'd rather the nat'l anthem not be played before a sporting event.

Trump bitched more about football players taking a knee than he has about this cop "taking a knee."

L.A. has maybe the strictest S.I.P. in the country. There were hundreds of people out protesting today and most weren’t wearing masks or practicing social distancing.

Kind of an interesting political conundrum. Anger over George Lloyd’s death is clearly understandable. But is it enough to not practice social distancing? Or wear a mask?

That's because the far right loons often espouse Libertarian concepts. Only when it's expedient, though. Without SSI, Ryan would not have gone to college.

Of course! Because that's somehow "different" than if you or I take advantage of a social program when we are down and out. Then we're moochers.

I've never thought of Libertarians as RW. If anything, a true Libertarian is just the opposite. However, when it comes to voting or supporting whoever is in office at the time, they tend to almost always align with the right, and sometimes the far right.

So, little blackbird, if you don't want everyone to think that you're a crow, don't sit on the telephone wire next to them.

Hello cawacko,

Google search is your friend. A lot written about it

Oh, you stepped in it now.

I never google anything. I do not use that search engine. There is a perfectly good and well-informed life without that massive overbearing intrusive corporation in your life. I do not appreciate that corporation trying to think for me, which is what they do. No two users get the same results from a search. That's wrong. And I don't want a search engine collecting information on what I search. That is too intrusive, and a violation of personal privacy. No, that extremely powerful international corporation is not your friend at all. It doesn't care about you. It cares about generating profits. It pries into your life toward that goal.

There are other search engines out there which are far less intrusive. You do not have to just take whatever software and hardware corporations dish out to you. As far as I am concerned, your 'friend' is nothing more than what is commonly called 'bloatware.' I would advise individuals who have never considered their search engine options to wake up, learn what is available, and think for themselves.

Anybody who really thinks a giant international corporation is 'your friend' is being incredibly naive. Real friendship is not that. I would suggest that person reacquaint themselves with the actual friendship of another living breathing human, someone they can identify with on a range of subjects, common interests, and shared experiences.
