Well, it was a lot longer than that—in the Western world anyway.
I lack the motivation to type them all out: Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Churchill, Reagan, Lincoln, Kennedy..you get the idea. Not all were devout by any means but their worldview was largely informed by the *Christian* culture from which they sprang.
And I suspect you probably know this already. Or maybe you don’t lol. It’s not that the West was largely Caucasian—it was because it was largely Christian, that it took off and left the proverbial pack. The Muslim world is relatively stultified NOT because of race or whatever—it’s because their religion tends to produce different cultural effects, particularly in their leaders. Because of their religion, they struggle to embrace democracy.
I don’t know that I would *not vote* for a ‘secular’ president: it would depend on what they advocated and etc. Vote for one BECAUSE they were secular?

There is no Religious Left. While there are plenty of Leftists who believe in religion, they don't make it part of their politics. Religion is stupid and cowardly, but if a politician is going to be religious, they should at least keep it out of politics.

But they didn't all vote. It's not about how liberal or conservative a state is, it's about who votes. The Religious Right in Cali mobilized their Christcucks to vote for Prop 8.
