Totally agree w/ Yang... Noticed it right off the bat in the first debates.. SOme of it is so chezzy, you would expect on a cheap 3rd world network....

Contrived controversies are promulgated to pump up ratings.
There's a big problem with using the TV format. It doesn't work very well for so many candidates. It's really hard to identify with so many candidates and keep up with who is where on which issue.
I would love to see the candidates debate their positions in a well moderated online forum. No personal attacks. Just talking about the issues. Just the candidates could post, but everyone could read it. The public always has forums like this to discuss the candidate comments. That would create an easily searchable record of where they stand on each position.
I am so tired of the loser mentality that believes the way to advance oneself is to attack somebody else. (win/lose) We need to elect somebody who will effectively deal with our national challenges. I want to hear how the candidates would deal with issues, not what dirt they can come up with on another candidate. The media is already tasked with bringing up dirt.
The way forward for our nation lies in voting FOR people, not against somebody else.
We need leaders who are good solution-creators. (win/win)
We need to elect effective leaders and problem solvers, not critics.

They are not rigged. They have to damn many candidates to have a serious and informative debate. They will get better as we cull out those who are not gaining voters. Packman says we cannot get into substantive debates in short time periods. That is not because they are "fixed". It is because there are too damn many at this time. There is nothing revealing about that problem.
It worked for Daffy in 2016. He is a showman and loves attention. So the debates were perfect for his shallow knowledge and ability to get headlines.
