Another example of high-speed fail

I see no reason our new totalitarian government wont simply restrict the number of flights that are allowed. These post revolution times are going to be completely different from Old America. Then they push the price of gas above $10/gal and start up a per mile driving tax.....people will ride trains.....if there were any.....which I will believe when I see it....most of us will not be able to afford anything else.

Its worth noting that in China's Social Credit Program rather large numbers of defectives are not allowed to ride high speed trains or fly...we might do something like that eventually.

Planes are flexible, they can fly anywhere you want. Trains are not, they only go where the tracks take them.
Its especially true for high speed as they require special tracks to manage the speed.

Demand is constantly shifting which is a problem with trains. Light rail works in heavily populated areas because its largely commuter traffic.
Inter city is far less predictable.

Who told you that you have a right to travel?

That was Old America.

That building high speed fail in the US is a worthless idea that is nothing but a trillion dollar plus boondoggle. If it gets built, it won't get used, and will be the biggest public works failure in the history of the nation.

When you run out if room to install another lane on your high way you will use it

Then that 90% can pay for it. Zero value for Wyoming etc.
This is a project for states, not the federal govt.

The rest of the USA has spent a lot of money supporting Wyoming... And will continue to spend a lot of money... Now you say that you are worried that the 90% of Americans might spend some of the money on themselves, rather than Wyoming?

It is projected to cost $80 billion, but some argue it will cost $100 billion. But it has not been built, and so has not cost that much, yet. As with any project that has not been built, it cannot be used.

Which line? California's from LA to San Fran alone will top $100 billion before it's finished.
