We did. We suspended primary elections during 9/11. There have been other similar, minor suspensions. It happens. Sometimes the hurricane hits at the worst possible time.

The closest similar situation was during the Civil War, where elections were only held in some states, and not in others. Again, there was not much anyone could have done about it.
