What's the Empah got to do with it - that was for slavers and lawless profiteers, foreign parts. slavery was shown to be illegal here in the late Eighteenth Century, but obviously it was illegal already.

Dude, the fact you ignore Britain controlled the colonies and that it was Euros who started slavery in the New World tells me you're either lying, stupid or delusional.

Can you help everyone out by saying which one it is? That'd be a really great time saver. :thup:

Portugal started slavery in the west. The UK banned the slave trade in 1808 or thereabouts, and the West Africa Squadron liberated vast numbers. Slavery was abolished in the colonies in the 1830's, but the US, having achieved independence, kept it for pushing forty years. Congratulations! :)
