What's wrong with expecting blacks to get the same ID that whites have no problem getting? Are you claiming blacks aren't capable of doing so to the same level?

I'm on board. I have the type ID that many blacks don't seem to be capable of getting. Not that they can't, but they won't then they complain.

Vermont isn't terribly un-affordable. The median household income there is $56,990, which is only about 2% higher than nationally. And houses there are fairly cheap -- right now Vermont ranks 26th in the nation for median listing price for a home.

Of course not. How bizarre that your mind went straight there. I find that's a common thing on the right-- they have difficulty thinking of black people, in particular, without immediately thinking in terms of slavery. I've never understood that mindset.

What is being discussed is your side's enabling criminal behavior. The reality is that many of these states that have lifetime bans also have rubber stamp restorations of voting rights if the felon keeps out of trouble for a period of time. Even then, the dregs largely don't vote. Estimates are that of the 200K people Macauliffe restored in Virginia, only 14K have actually voted since then. They don't do it to vote. They do it so they can legally access guns and in Virginia you have to check the restoration of rights box before you can apply to get your gun privileges.
