I like the Pittsburgh-Philadelphia corridor but am wondering if all the hilly terrain in the western end of the state will take the "high" out of high-speed.
If you look at the map of the proposed lines they plan to connect up areas of high density like LA to San Francisco, Seattle to Vancouver and the North East to Florida.
Dreaming is fine, but reality has to kick-in at some point. California cannot afford it with the high employment rate and growing. This state is in serious trouble and facing bankruptcy, partly due to the massive welfare spending. I'll take Amtrak any day, rather than go further in debt.
