Speaking of acquired taste, I finally grew to like Guinness, which is my first dark beer now... I'm still a medium-brew guy (Blue Moon, Fat Tire, Longboard), liking only the one dark beer and a few lights (Coors, perhaps Pabst...). But Guinness is appealing because it is easily one of the smoothest that I've ever had...
 
Yeah an acquired taste...I was told the same thing about caviar. yech...
I used to drink from time to time but it was for the effects not the taste.

Guinness is good, as is Sam Adams, or, if you like decent beer for a decent price, Killian's.
