Best Album of the 1990s

In no particular order...

Tool - "Aenima"
Slayer - "Seasons In The Abyss"
Metallica - "The Black Album"
GNR - "Use Your Illusion I & II"
NIN - "Broken"
Korn - "Korn"
Rage Against The Machine - "Evil Empire"
Godsmack - "Godsmack"

Unfortunately, gave up listening to what is generically referred to as "Rap" when "Gangster Rap" became preeminent. I can't speak with any degree of knowledge pertaining to said genre after the 80's.

Cypress I must say your ratings for the 70s and 80s are much better. Half that stuff honestly makes me want to vomit.

For me and most of my favorites lie in the decade of the 90s

Tool - Aenima
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
Nas - Illmatic
Biggie Smalls - Ready to Die
Fear Factory - Demanufacture
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Pearl Jam - Vs.
Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers
Nirvana - Nevermind
Fugees - The Score
Scarface - The Diary
Tribe Called Quest- Low End Theory
2pac - All Eyes On me
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Rage Against the Machine - Self Titled

I never liked Smashing pumpkins I atribute it to really hating Billy Corgan's voice I guess the same could be said for Green Day.

I wasn't neccessarily picking my favorites. I was picking the albums that were the most influential, that were the most widely heard, and that most people have heard of - i.e., the "best" of the 1990s. That's how these "best of" lists traditionally are constructed.

In order:

1. Siamese Dream - Smashing Pumpkins
2. The Color and the Shape - Foo Fighters
3. Gish - Smashing Pumpkins
4. Superunknown - Soundgarden
5. Under the Table and Dreaming - Dave Matthews Band
6. OK Computer - Radiohead
7. New Way to Be Human - Switchfoot
8. "Blue Album" - Weezer
9. Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers

I am not actually sure #9 is a 90s album, but it has to be close. Late 90s or maybe early 2000. :)
