Biden has got to go.

Yes, my dear, President Biden has been a breath of fresh air, after living through the most corrupt administration possibly in our history. And as of now we still dont know the whole story of Trump corruption.

Florida is not immune to insanity either, I see.

But you support Biden! :bigthink:

True. And if Biden had turned out to be, say, another GW Bush, that would have looked like an improvement but still a disappointing one. But he's surprised me how good he's been.

Take Afghanistan as an example. Sure, the corporate press was determined to present the withdrawal as a disaster, because they were very angry Biden was taking their forever war from them. But for me, it was a hugely positive surprise. I thought for sure Biden would do what Trump did -- constantly suggesting a withdrawal was coming shortly, to quiet those insisting on it, while never actually withdrawing.

That would have been the worst of both worlds, in that it would continue the hundred-billion-dollar-per-year bleed rate, while also assuring our enemies kept counting on us getting out eventually, so that their morale would never break and our side could never win.

Instead, Biden succeeded in getting us out of Afghanistan within his first few months as president. And though any retreat is going to be chaotic and leave some tragedies in its wake, the fact is he got us out with an US KIA toll of barely over a dozen soldiers.... which is more like what you'd expect from a bus crash than a major battle.

The Afghanistan withdrawal was a big positive surprise for me. I was also surprised he managed to jam through that infrastructure bill, which I expected to get held up by crypto-Republicans like Manchin and Sinema. And I was surprised that 2021 looks like the best year for economic improvement in almost forty years, and that deficits have already started to come down. I'd anticipated worse.

So, rather than ret-conning my expectations in order to maintain a sense of cynicism, I'm being honest about the fact he has overachieved relative to what I thought would happen.

Take Afghanistan as an example. Sure, the corporate press was determined to present the withdrawal as a disaster.

Sadly you are totally wrong. My son in law was in Kabul trying to get out at the time and it was worse than reported. It according to a Marine officer he was translating for said it was a total cluster fuck. If it weren't for the ingenuity of our troops not nearly as many would have gotten out that did. BTY hundreds if not thousands that helped us were left behind. Like it or not that is the truth!

How is Biden responsible for gas prices. Be specific.

You’ll recall during the 2020 primary debates, President Joe Biden said there would be no more drilling, including offshore. On his first day in office, the president canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline and suspended new federal oil and gas leases. He followed by hiking drilling fees on federal land and mandated that all federal vehicles be zero emissions. None of this was a surprise, since Biden bragged about his anti-energy campaign during the presidential run.

When Biden took office, the national average for gas was $2.53 a gallon. I recall a couple of weeks ago, the president saying he was going to work like the devil to address rising gas prices. Not much we can do — it’s Russia’s fault!

Before the war in Ukraine, Biden presided over the largest year over year gas price rise in at least 30 years, due to him announcing his intention to tax and regulate the fossil fuel industry out of existence.

What is the president’s solution? Blame Russia, buy electric vehicles, beg OPEC for a bailout, buy oil from Iran and Venezuela; let’s trade one dictator for another.

What a strange reply, since every screw up, ever lie, every mistake, every failure during the Trump years was always someone else's fault. Not once did you and your kind ever blame him for anything.

Well, according to folks like you, everything that happened during Trump's administration was Trump's fault, and everything during Biden's administration is Trump's fault...

The low gas prices and low inflation numbers and food prices 20% less...were Trumps fault 100%

What will Republicans do different? Rick Scott wants to raise your taxes. Would Trump force China to do away with their zero COVID policy?

Would Trump force oil companies to produce instead of do stock buy backs?

Would Trump force food producers to lower their prices?

Will Trump cure the labor shortage for low paying jobs, like picking produce, cleaning motels, waiting tables?

Im really interested in Trumps ideas, but all he talks about is difficulty flushing toilets, his great results of his dementia test and the 2020 election.

If it has to be a Republican, couldn’t you guys decide better than Trump?

you need to stop immigration and let those wages naturally rise.

thats what trump will do.

Ask yourself why gas prices were so low, why there was no inflation. You know the answer cause we have discussed it so many times.

People weren't working, so obviously no need for gas. People weren't shopping so no reason for inflation.
Shall we bring back the good old trump days when the markets, and employment crashed?
All because trump was afraid of the truth and lied every day about Covid.

Prior to his taking office we were oil independent. Yes oil is internationally priced but as OPEC has shown over the years production is the influencer. Higher production =excess oil= lower prices DUH.
Oil companies cut production during COVID and they aren’t producing. That isn’t Biden’s fault. He’s taking steps to penalizing them for not using their oil leases.

High gas prices, record inflation with no end in sight, out of control crime, borders, food shortages, baby food shelves empty...during Slow Joe's presidency, not during President Trump's presidency.
