Biden is looking to restore faith in government

The majority of Democrats have no idea what they want...

Sure they do. They want this, the Ultimate Nanny State:

An interesting idea but the phrasing of "idiots" is too modern for Einstein. What he really wrote in 1948 was I believe that the abominable deterioration of ethical standards stems primarily from the mechanization and depersonalization of our lives, a disastrous byproduct of science and technology. Nostra culpa!

"Nostra culpa" means "our fault". Like many scientists of the time, he seemed concerned that we were all going to blow ourselves up in global nuclear fire. The mechanization and depersonalization makes it easier to kill millions with a push of the button whereas slitting their throats or shooting them in the gut and watching them bleed out is very personal.

On masks. While I exaggerated a bit with "forever" it's closer to true than not.

His mask mandate is open ended. That is, there is no ending date on when it goes away--that's forever in the most extreme case.

You actually doubled down on forever. You tried to make a case that it COULD be true.

Do you think that's intellectually honest?

What a shock, Dems won elections and are leading!

Meh. It's a binary choice and I'll be the first to admit the Republicans have been fucking up for years. IMO, the Democrats won by default. That makes them "better", but far from the best.

In that the best and brightest rarely opt for a career in public service, EVERY election is about the lesser of two incompetents.
Because we're a nation of factions with NO overlap of values between said factions,
every election, despite that, is also a very easy choice for most.

In my case, I'd quite literally vote for an implosion of the earth itself over a Republican candidate.
An implosion of the earth would spare me from the indignity of Republican leadership over my country.
That's an easy choice.

American politics has, indeed, devolved into to major factions with little to no overlap, but it took 30 years to get here. Let's hope it takes far less time to get back.

These days saw more unity:

It all works out to the same end... We're doomed!

Yes. In a discussion such as this one, rhetorical exaggeration, aka hyperbole, is a common tool used.

Rather than lengthening my answer to absurd proportions about some exact date that Biden's mask mandate will end--and there is no current specific date--claiming it is "forever" is perfectly valid as a rhetorical device in this discussion.

That's a different argument than you made previously. Previously, you said the characterization of "forever" was closer to true than not.
