No - sticking to long-standing traditions and seeking an olive branch is the best he can do if he thinks that about Trump. Any sort of confrontational stance could have a negative impact on someone as unpredictable as Trump.

You Trumpys are disgusting. Biden is doing what all presidents but one have done. The peaceful turnover is a big deal in America. Trump blew that all to shit. Trump started an insurrection to try and steal the presidency he lost. He is without manners and class. He treats all other politicians like enemies. Biden is again showing that people can be polite . Trump will not respect that.

Democrats are going to give a much-needed clinic to MAGA in the course of the next few months on how grown-ups lose, and how important it is to do some of these things to heal a nation after a bitter campaign & election. They'll attend the inauguration. Harris will meet with Trump after that. No one will storm the Capitol.

To me it’s like you compete and at the end you shake hands win or lose (even if you have to bite your tongue so to speak while doing so).
And as President you have a duty to do what Biden did, no matter how painful it may be.
