So, what it boils down to is more of the same ineffective and useless 'gun laws' that are already on the books. By the way, I doubt any reasonable court would count someone selling a gun privately on occasion as "predominately earn a profit." On the other hand, someone that regularly sells at gun shows but isn't a licensed dealer would have to do the checks, something more reputable sellers already do.

Why? What gives the federal government authority to require a gun dealer to perform ANY kind of check?
What gives the federal government to register your name or require applying for any kind of check?

Nothing in Article I gives Congress the authority to register your name and address to be put on file with the federal government in order to own a gun.
Nothing in Article II gives the President the authority to do so either.
Nothing in Article III gives the judicial branch power or authority to change or 'interpret' anything in the Constitution. They also do not have authority to make law. That authority is reserved to Congress.

It is unconstitutional for the federal government to build a dossier on citizens that want to own guns.
