This was a terrible prediction.

The smoking hulls of thousands of Russian armored vehicles says Putin is not in total control of events nor dealing from a position of utter dominance.
 
I made some terrible predictions myself, but I didn't jump the gun prematurely like Stone and assume Russia would easily roll over Ukraine and dominate them.

As the Ukrainians stand up to the Russians, and even push them back, it sends a signal to China. An even bigger signal is when the Ukrainians destroy Russian ships. Right now, it is questionable whether the Chinese could even land troops on Taiwan.

Again, Stone's predictions of easy victory for his hero Putin have not aged well.

I agree this is a lesson to China that invading a heavily armed Taiwan will be extremely painful, and possibly futile, especially with an American president that genuinely backs allies and associated democratic nations (aka, not Trump).

I wonder too if the Chinese military prowess has been overrated in the same way Russia's has

China has learned an important lesson from Russia's failure, that invading Taiwan would not be easy. They might change things 10 years from now, but right now it does not look possible. Even if they try to change things 10 years from now, they will not know if they were successful. The Chinese want certainties.

He looked at the sanctions, laughed at them, and told us to go fuck ourselves and he would do as he wanted. THAT is the reality of it all. Now if we want him out of Ukraine we will have to give away the farm because he is already there with no reason to leave,...he is the one dealing from a position of strength. With China's full support I might add. So what is the answer? Go to war over it? Is that what you idiots want? The answer is we are FUCKED now. Its too late. We will have to bend over and give him everything he wants to get him out, all his wish list on a silver platter....if were lucky enuff to get him to take the deal at all. That......or go to WAR. A stronger better administration would have sorted this out well BEFORE the invasion happened. A smarter administration would have brokered a deal well ahead of time that would have been tolerable to all parties involved. But no,.....instead we get this total humiliation brought on by a bunch of fucking dummies running DC. Now live with. Nothing we can do now,... too late.

China is smarter enough to intimidate but if they can't do that, then they'll buy Taiwan one square meter at a time. Wars are hugely destructive as both Russia and Ukraine know.
