No one finds this disturbing? The teacher can bring up the topic in class, post pictures depicting homosexual activity on the classroom walls, but the STUDENTS are to "be careful when or where" they voice an opposing view? Once again, proof that modern liberalism is about anything BUT freedom. Stand in line and don't talk back. Pure, unadulterated tyranny, and the mindless donkey-shit headed drones love it.
That's a bit nitpicky. I have no problem w/ discouraging the airing of bigoted views in a classroom environment.

Do we silence anyone who voices an opposing view on a topic that holds no relevancy for the class itself?
If someone says that it's wrong to be black or Jewish, or wrong to have a stutter...do you consider that an "opposing view"?
In this case it would be airing a religious view...down with that too ?

If they said that to their friend while in a language class I would certainly not punish them for it.
This was obviously not part of the classroom work (since it was a german language class).
I don't agree w/ the suspension. But I have no problem w/ the school telling him to keep that talk outside of the classroom.
"That" is as valid in a classroom or any room as it is to say privately to a friend , "lets go to a movie"....
This wasn't a public statement meant for the entire class or the instructor...it was a comment to a classmate....a...as in ONE

Once again America proves itself to be a caricature of itself. The kid is 14. He might just as well have been commenting on spacemen or dinosaurs. And even if he was aware of what he was saying, at the age of 14 he should be experimenting with ideas. Today no homosexuals, tomorrow no republicans, the next day small people, people with limps or lisps, brown white or black.
