Boris Johnson has been criticised for not visiting flood-stricken communities at Christmas after it emerged he had no immediate plans to travel to areas hit by heavy rain.

Families may be forced to spend the festive period away from their homes after rivers burst their banks in Kent, Cornwall, Sussex and Norfolk. The Met Office has 54 flood warnings and 141 flood alerts in place across the UK, including in the north of England and the Midlands, with some likely to remain active until Christmas Eve as more rain is forecast.

Severe flooding in Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire in November affected 4,200 homes, and the prime minister was heckled over the length of time it had taken him to visit when he arrived in South Yorkshire.

There are also no plans to hold an emergency meeting of government officials in the north after the Labour MP Dan Jarvis, who is also the mayor of the Sheffield city region, asked for one to take place immediately.

I think you are using "fascism" as a catch-all term for things you don't like, which covers a lot of ground.

The last time actual fascism made any headway in Britain (and not much at that) was in the 1930s, when Mosley's British Union of Fascists (popularly known as the BFs :)) got some attention by provoking ant-semitic riots. They never won a seat. Even the Communists had an MP, but not the BFs.

As for Corbyn - he is, I hope, the last of the clapped-out ideological fruitcakes. The Labour Party was never about people like that, but they finally managed to hijack it by entryism. The Party will be unelectable until they are cleared out, which may take some time.

Socialism is the UK's only hope for a stable and respected future. The Labour party is, it's true, still encrusted with the barnacles of Blairism and it seeks power rather than policy- the mistake that the Tories have just made.
Johnson will attempt to make policy on the hoof- or trotter in his case- but the country is too divided to permit him any success- although he will get his self-serving bills through his parliament of self-serving parasites. With good management on the part of his Socialist opposition he'll find that his dictats will be rejected by half of Brits- and that figure should rise as the dupes come to realize that 'austerity ' is permanent Tory policy.
Labour's major problem is the Murdoch media stranglehold and the neoZionist lobby which those media sanctify. The British public has been slyly led to believe that the sun shines out of Jewish assholes- and that has to be reversed. It's a good focal point for true Socialists.
