A deal would mean Johnson accepting compromises (and losses). No deal might mean worse losses, but he can blame that on the EU refusing to make a deal. A deal means Johnson is accepting blame, which would be a bad move for him politically.

Stupid fucker nobody is going to introduce a hard border, it's the usual bullshit from Remoaners. There is a solution already and it's operated by the Brits. VAT across borders is handled by systems based in England.

UK reveals plans for up to 10 inland border sites to cope with Brexit chaos

The government has announced plans for up to 10 inland sites to cope with Brexit congestion and border checks including in Birmingham, Warrington and at a former airfield near Epping Forest in Essex.

The inland border sites are being acquired to relieve ports including at Dover and Liverpool and could be in place for up to two years, according to one of councils where the planning process for infrastructure has already begun.

You want the EU to just "trust" that the UK will look after its interests? Really?

There are two radically different systems, so there must be a border between them. That is the way the world works.
