I am surprised because I keep hoping people will grow up or wise up. I keep thinking that the baseless hatred will die off. Silly of me, I know.
As for the "so what" part, If we allow it the haters will ruin people lives forever. We stand up and change things and they become the point of ridicule.

So what? Do you have any clue how hard it is to become an Eagle Scout? The dedication? The hard work? The commitment to both your community and learning? This is a complete and total discrace. It's none of their fucking business what this kids sexual orientation is. If he's met the standards and done the work to be denied this award based on his sexual orientation is just plain bigotry.
