Or one could read Is “human nature” a barrier to socialism?

(Excerpt) In reality, it is capitalism that stifles the motivation and creativity of the majority of the population “the working class”. There is nothing more unmotivating than being forced to do the same repetitive job for 8 or 12 hours per day just to pay your bills.

As the American socialist Eugene Debs put it: “[People] do not shrink from work, but from slavery. The [person] who works primarily for another does so primarily under compulsion, and work so done is the very essence of slavery.”

But if workers collectively owned and managed their workplaces in a democratic socialist economy rather than taking orders from a boss, workers would be much more motivated.

And if all jobs provided good pay, benefits, and security, people would pursue careers they enjoyed rather than jobs that just provide economic security, which would make people far more productive.

Rana, Christiefan, Rune, Dude, Onceler, Darla, SigmanKenny, TommyP, and of course Asswipe......

Ahhh....so not one.....not a single one of the pinheads will comment on Apples post.....

Why am I not surprised......

this was my most civil post in weeks and DQ even puts me on ignore for it......asking for a simple comment on how the other lefties feel about their fellow lefty's post....

One pinhead says I have "devolved" with this post......take makes no sense.....

One obvlivious moron somehow construes this as "pwning myself".....can't figure that one out....and

one says I "guzzled gizz in the navy so he thinks he's tough" because of this post.

Asking for a comment about Apple shows "I'm tough" ?....and wtf is "gizz".....short for gizzard, maybe ?

The only conclusion one can draw from the reply's is, at least these three of the asswipe lefty liberals are becoming more and more unhinged and incoherent by the fuckin' hour.

Maybe Rana, christiefan, Rune, Tommy or Sigman can give us a adult comment on Apples excellent post of his beliefs.....

Told you he's always good for a laugh.

He can't even discuss the topic - Bush's ruinous wars.

Poor Blabo.

Seems you missed Post #40.....or didn't understand it enough to reply to it....Poor AssWipe.......

No need to call yourself names, Blabo. I'm not surprised you didn't understand Apple's post.

Poor Blabo.

So AssWipe refuses to tell us if he agrees with Apples post.....no balls ?.....Asswipe dont' have the balls to tell us.....Poor AssWipe.

Don't you Democrats stick together and support each others beliefs.....?.....Well, except for Asswipe...

Incapable of discussing the astronomical costs of Bush's failed wars, Blabo?

Hardly surprising, given your stated intention to move to Puerto Rico based on some 7 year old gas prices you found on the internet.

Poor Blabo.

Thank-you, Bravo. ;)

It's just common sense, really. Take, for example, two people working in a neighborhood diner. One is the owner. They run the cash register and serve the clients. We'll call her Mrs. A. The other one cooks/prepares the order and washes the dishes. We'll call him Mr. B.

In the next scenario we have a Mrs. A and Mr. B but Mr. B is co-owner. Do you think the Mr. B in the first scenario is as conscientious and productive as the Mr. B in the second scenario?

No problem Apple.....If there is one thing I appreciate in a post, its honesty and its your honesty I graded as excellent.....

Why do you think your comrades, Rana, christiefan, Rune, TommyP., Sigman, Darla, DonQ, Onceler or even poor AssWipe won't give us a serious comment on the excellent post of your heartfelt beliefs on these serious issues.....
No balls, they're hypocrites, fear to admit believing as you do, can't admit what they really are while they hide behind the lable of liberal......what ?

At least you don't hide......you defend your beliefs.....anti-American as they are, ..... I admire that.....

Why do you think my beliefs are anti-American? Are you implying people who own a share of a business in which they work are less productive than your regular employee?

Your attempt at creating a strawman is pathetic....but to answer you question....
Yes, I think every employee should own a share of the company they work for.....every windshield installer working on the Ford assembly line should own some stock in the company.....but it won't change his or her status as a lowly worker, one of thousands, working on a repetitive job for the Corporation will it......
Are you naive enough to think that having a piece of the action is akin to socialism ? Its actually the backbone of capitalism......
Was that the gist of you long-winded post ?

Your circular reasoning is so blatant and yet you're blind to it.

Competition is not human nature.?.....Sorry sonny.....competition IS human nature
We are not cats or mice or birds whose only real natural instinct is to survive....
They don't crave more comfort or more 'things' or a sexier mate.....they are simple animals......
if you provide for their one and only basic need to survive, you've made them your slave.....
Thats what you want for mankind......slavery with those that provide the base needs the slave owners.....
and you've not progressed far enough to have realized it.....

The higher on the animal ladder one specie gets the more complex the competitive instinct and the more driving the instinct for survival and comfort......thats human nature.....not to be compared with animal instinct.....it goes much deeper than doing battle for the most females in the herd....

I was really after the rest of your comrade liberal Democrat Socialists to come to your defense and agree with your post, before I smashed it pieces.....but they
didn't have the balls to put themselves at risk of showing what ignorant asses they are.....

Incapable of discussing the astronomical costs of Bush's failed wars, Blabo? Read, and learn... Bush Proposal On Vieques Too Little Too Late After pressure from the people of Vieques, the U.S. Navy left the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico on May, 2003, after more than 60 years of use as a testing ground. The U.S. Navy came to Vieques in 1941, taking jurisdiction of about 70% (27,000 of the island's 33,000 acres) of Vieques, which it was used as a training area (target practice with live ammunition and war games). As a result, Vieques has inherited a legacy of toxic pollution. In May of 1999, the U.S. Navy admitted that it had tested radioactive depleted uranium shells in the island. Many in the island blame the high cancer rate (26 percent over Puerto Rico's average) on the Navy's pollution. http://www.albionmonitor.com/0106a/copyright/bushviques.html Still planning to move there because you saw some 5 year-old gas prices on a CNN Money site? Poor Blabo.

I was under the impression that was your belief.

So, we agree. It's beneficial for everyone to have a "piece of the action".
