Gee whiz...
How long can we as a nation support stuff like this:
"California has the largest population of undocumented immigrants in the United States, with nearly 2.6 million at the start of 2010, according to government figures."
For every job that one of these 2.6 million people take there is one less job for a California American. For every government benefit that one of these 2.6 million people receive there is one less government benefit available (they're not unlimited you know) for a California American.
Allow immigration from the south (or north, east and west for that matter) but make them follow the rules.
most of the jobs that illegals 'take' are jobs that u s of a citizens do not want
most of the jobs that illegals 'take' are jobs that u s of a citizens do not want
most of the jobs that illegals 'take' are jobs that u s of a citizens do not want
. I'm all for guest worker programs to allow people who want to come here to work to do so. I don't understand this outright support for those who come here illegally.most of the jobs that illegals 'take' are jobs that u s of a citizens do not want
Then take those on welfare and give them these jobs in exchange for their welfare checks.
most of the jobs that illegals 'take' are jobs that u s of a citizens do not want
so you advocate slave labor
also, what if they are not able to do the work
also, most of the people on welfare have children to take care of - that is how they qualify for welfare
While I would agree with you, if they made government assistance (for the physically able) contingent upon the Recepients taking available work (I've argued this several times to no avail), able Americans might be compelled to take those jobs.
I have stated many time that here there are plant jobs available, with benefits, but many of the "white" folks find it more satisfying to suck a little less than they could earn from the government tit so we have had an influx of folks from Mexico come in and fill those positions. Believe me I have much more respect for those folks from Mexico than for the natives here who choose to take the government benefits rather than go to work. But I believe those folks from Mexico ought to do so legally...and many of them believe that too.
Also, there are a lot of jobs available (http://www.ibj.com/jobs-go-unfilled-because-workers-lack-needed-skills/PARAMS/article/35167) but people seem to be caught in a rut when it comes to they type of job they are seeking. Let me outline some reasons these jobs are unfilled. For one I would say that the push by both political parties for college and the resulting lack ,of [funding and appeal of] technical training to high schoolers has led to a shortage of workers. This is kind of borne out in the article. Also, when a person does get that college degree, so many feel that such works as is available is beneath them so they won't do it. I have a brother that fits that mold. He's been unemployed for 2 years but absolutely will not take a factory job in a non managerial role. If I were out of work I don't care what kind of job is available...I am going to take it until something better comes along. I will do anything that I can do to stay off of the government tit as long as I am healthy because I know there are folks who need that sort of assistance more than I would.
But back to the OP...I am all for immigration. That has made this country what it is. Just have them immigrate legally and monitor those who don't.

For as long as we as a nation turn a blind eye to the corps who continue to utilize and exploit cheap immigrant labor without legal consequences, that's how long.
Thank NAFTA and the corruption on both sides of the border who've been willing to shaft the workers under the repulsively-dishonest guise of 'free trade'. Clinton's biggest mistake. And he was warned, repeatedly. I hope his conscience mugs him over it forever.
Complete horseshit. First of all, MOST of the work performed by poor immigrants, illegal or otherwise, is back-breaking agricultural work and manual unskilled labor.
The second part of your horseshit post regards all the 'benefits' supposedly received by illegal immigrants. If you're interested in sounding like a reasonably-intelligent adult the next time you post on this subject, do yourself a favor and educate yourself. Start here:

Nope. Not until multinational corporations follow the rules, here AND in Mexico.
CA truly has gone off the deep end. The GF and I toyed with the notion of moving there, but no more. What a fucked up state.
Typical lib. Don't enforce immigration laws, just blame corporations.
glad to hear it, ca is getting too crowded
ps the illegals mainly take farm jobs that no one else wants and keep ca's ag industry afloat
do you have a link backing up your statement that 'white' folk would rather suck on the government's tit rather than work
