Can President Biden get rid of the Presidential pardon law permanently?

Joe Capitalist

Racism is a disease
As you can see, some presidents will use it to allow their thugs to commit crimes to do their dirty work.

At least change the law to state the president can not pardon someone he has a personal relationship with or can not benefit in the pardon in any way.

Trump has shown that people can break the law to help keep someone in power and not face prosecution.

The Presidential pardon could be very dangerous in the wrong hands.

Ha! Like Trump was the first. The most egregious in my lifetime has to be Clinton. His pardon of Marc Rich tops the list for absolute quid pro quo corruption hands down.

It's in the Constitution.

Clinton certainly abused it, but nothing compared to Rodger Stone and Steve Bannon's pardons.

Another flaw in the Constitution. Assumes the President is a philosopher king.
you need to understand plenary powers -POTUS is limited in scope to "Offenses against the United States"
as chief executive
When an idiot like yourself starts harping on "flaws: in the Constitution -immediately stop -
since you are over your head

Read the Marc Rich case. The guy was a gazillionaire and wanted for all sorts of business fraud and schemes and the like... Think ENRON on steroids. He fled the US and was hiding in Switzerland which has no extradition treaty with the US so the feds couldn't nab him. He lived right out in the open there with a millionaire lifestyle. He was on the FBI's ten most wanted list for years.

Meanwhile, his wife was still in the US. She "donated" over a million to the DNC and gave the Hildabeast $100,000 for her senate campaign. The Israelis had some deal going with him too and MOSSAD and various Israeli politicians lobbied for his pardon.

Bill pardoned him on his last day in office.

Far, far, worse than anything Trump did with pardons.

Constitution won't be amended. But clearly, the pardon power is mostly abused and without merit.

I agree it was bad, I disagree it was worse than pardoning your personal political operatives.

Actually, most pardons are deserved. It's the ones where politics and money come into play that are abused. Maybe a confirmation process like for many high federal offices should be in place. The President nominates someone for pardon, the Senate confirms it. Had that been the case, Marc Rich would still be hiding in Switzerland, as one example.
