WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday she must respond in kind to attacks from rival Barack Obama even though she'd rather keep the race for the Democratic presidential nomination focused on their differences on public policy issues.

"I try not to attack first, but I have to defend myself — I do have to counterpunch," Clinton told NBC's "Today Show."

there seems to be a predisposition that Hillary - "because she's a b*tch" - did all the attacking first.

Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. I doubt you've done more than 30 seconds of research, to evalutate in a substantive way, the timeline of all the attacks in the last month or two.

I don't really care who attacked first. And I don't think it's really possible to prove who attacked first, if it's evaluated objectively.

This horse race crap is not that interesting to me, and I think every politician is perfectly capable of playing hardball, and telling untruths about their opponents.

Blanket statements are unconvincing.

Progressive writers and bloggers in cyberspace, are all over the map over "who attacked first". And these are people who follow the race and the democratic party far more closely than superfreak--- who follows it at the most superficial level, commonly getting his information from drudge, national review, or realclearpolitics.

I don't care, and I don't think it can be proven one way or the other, beyond a resonable doubt.

It's horse race crap. And its disheartening. But, I'm not in a position, I don't have the knowledge, and I frankly don't care who threw the first punch. That's school yard fight crap-ola.

from my recollection.. and its pretty good:
Obama wins.. orates a rediculous speech in Iowa.. Hillary on ropes.. so begins new strategy.
1) Hillary crys and plays woman victim card by saying the Old Boys Club was attacking her.
2)Hillary said that Lyndon Johnson did more for minority rights than Martin Luther King
3)Bill attacked Obama as a “fairy tale”
4)Hillary says obama pushed this to race
5) hillary's suragante BET founder attacks obama on drug use with her sitting smug in backround.
6)Obama only says: “I’m not going to spend all my time running down the other candidates, which seems to be what Senator Clinton has been obsessed with for the last month"
7) commence war.

I don't know who started it, but the Clintons don't fight fair. Bill needs to go find some slut to occupy his time if he can't find a way to keep his trap shut. Bill, once again, has show how little class he has.

Bad call. The only reason Bill is pushing so hard to get hillary elected is because that will line up a whole new batch of interns for him to play with.

Trying to turn this into anything other than what it was is ridiculous. This has nothing to do with Clinton being a woman. This has to do with her acting as though she were the victim in the rift with Obama. Acting as though it wasn't her and billy boy going on the attack right after she got her "inevitable" ass kicked in Iowa.
