But, his hostility is quite a bit akin to the scorned lover, so I can see the confusion. I've never actually had a dude (or even a woman) be so wierdly hostile towards me for little apparent reason.

On the contrary. I have already begun a letter-writing campaign to the GOP to try to get them to adopt the slogan: "Iraq: the right war....just bad timing!", and to express undying love & affection for George Bush at every available opportunity as part of their '08 strategy.
