Capitalism isnt the problem but the answer

I understand where Greta Thunberg is coming from, but calling for the downfall of capitalism is not the answer.

Capitalism is just fine...except when it is allowed to become as unfettered as it is here in the United States. Most of those "freer capitalistic" countries mentioned in the linked article would cringe at the thought of allowing their versions of capitalism to be replaced by the US version.

Socialism learned a lot of lessons from capitalism. Now, capitalism needs to learn some lessons from socialism. Integration of more facets of socialism (some are already incorporated) had better start soon or we are going to be wiped out.

Which lessons from socialism?

Monetary hedonism for the last 40 years is not capitalism. Not even close.

Everyone bemoans greedy capitalists - but keeping interest rates near zero for so long had zero to do with Capitalism and everything to do with Socialism.

now it makes sense. you just project your own stupidity upon others. the notion that you think capitalism is unfettered in the US is absolutely laughable.

Ok fair point. Can you point to an example of something that is done better and cheaper by the govt than in the private sector?

government monopoly's are way more monopolizing than private sector counterparts. Does that count that they are better at being monopolies?

If not, than I will say 1) War. the end

Lol. I see your point but if the govt does something better and cheaper than the private sector it would be good to let them do that thing but I don't know what that might be, which is why I asked Frank.

When it pays to use criminals to get the job done...well, government fits that role very well also.

They will always be better at building roads, because they are better at monopolization and taking property. Don't come for "'muh roads"

They are better getting charity donations because the problem with that damn charity is people have to agree. Not when government gets involved!

Funny you mention criminals and building roads. The govt doesn't actually build roads they contract it out to private sector road builders. Lots of room for crony capitalism there. Now if the govt used criminals to build the roads instead of contractors then they might actually be able to build roads cheaper at least.

well yeah, government don't actually produce anything - never has and never will. All they do is take from those that do produce.

Tough to do, because so much is done in the private sector here...but medical insurance for one. The object of an insurance company is to make money...for the shareholders and the executives. Some CEO's of insurance companies make over 20,000,000 per year...and dividends of some insurance companies are HUGE compared even with that.

Fuck you, Cretin.

I did not say it was "unfettered" you moron...I made a comment about the amount of "unfetteredness" existing. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.

If you think capitalism in America does not have LOTS of loose ends...you are the one who is laughable.

Capitalism, as unfettered as it is currently in America, is the reason for the unreasonable distribution of wealth in our country. The top 1% owns 1/3 of all the wealth of the nation. That is more than the bottom 90% own of the wealth.

and for all of your idiot posturing, you still refuse to see the actual issue which isn't the faults of capitalism, but the corruption in the crony capitalist economy that democrats and republicans have fostered............that isn't unfettered
