CDC recommends flu shots for every kid in America born till age 18

Do you find that they think and talk at a bit of a different level than say your average undergraduate degree holder?
Most of the time they are trying to teach because that is what they do for a living. And they often have a habit of "interrogating" rather than asking questions and expecting to participate in a conversation. However, once you get down to it and actually hold them to a conversation, I find that they are pretty much people.

Don't laugh Cawacko, me and my two closest friends have started a PR/communications business together. We're doing really well too, especially for three women just starting out in a business. So what do you think we talk about? How we have to start socking some money away for upkeep. Boob lift, one of those "lifestyle face lifts" you know, the works.

When you are pushing 40, and actually one of them is in their 40's, you are thinking abotu that. But, my bf says he will leave me if I ever have that kind of surgery. that doesn't take it off the table though.

i was joking (but at least in L.A.) its so common that no one thinks twice about it. I have no problem with it if that's what someone wants to do.

If I were in your shoes and your husband said don't get work done I might consider his thoughts but since its just a bf I wouldn't let that stop me.

I know that they're people! That's not what I meant.

I don't know, that's been my experience...I'm sure everyone's is different.

the smartest people i know are in 2 catogories

1) thoes with crazy memories. I worked for a CFO at fidelity that had a photographic memory. Simply because they can remember what line 7 on page 99 says in a 500page book (basicaly what a computer could do) they make it to very high levels. He was VP at age 32 at fidelity.. CFO by age 35. Thats not common at all.

2) those with crazy processing speeds. Ability to think on feet and make critical and correct decitions quicker then all else.

Intellectuals allot of the times are know it all's and happen to be the ones with PHD's. They don't impress me as much as the other 2 categories above thats more genetic. They just have had more schooling on top of an average intelligence level.

Academic. You "know" one of them Cawacko!

LOL. My father has an academic Phd and was a professor at one point so I can't really speak bad about them.

Edit: Well I feel bad when talking bad about them even though it doesn't stop me would be more accurate.

It's a couple of years off anyway. I will decide then.

One thing I like about them is they deal in ideas rather than themselves.

Take a conversation with a person at a party. If you ask easy questions that get them talking about themselves you are a "masterful" conversationalist. But I find that uber-boring. However at the same party if you start talking in ideas most people will get bored with you and move on. These people love to talk about ideas and usually seem far less interested in talking about themselves. It seems that they were trained to do what I do regardless and focus on ideas....

However, those with Education PhD's think they are uber-special but only talk about themselves and tend to be extremely boring in my experience.

Yes, exactly. And I love to talk about and listen to, ideas. I find the other a total bore too.

Hmm...the Autistic often fit into your 2 categories.

sad that it comes at such a price though.

Avoid those with PhD's in Education. They think they are more special than others, but trap you in conversations about themselves....

thats very interesting to see bill gates with some sort of autistic tendency like Asperger's. Dont give the pro vaccine people ammunition tho. they will say everyone should be autistic.

It's hardly worth the gamble. Autism also has high rates of mental retardations in some cases.
