I disagree. There were many factors that drove people to spite vote for Stein, or vote for trump because they are too stupid to understand that the price of eggs had nothing to do with Biden. Both sides of the Israel/Palestine issue spite voted against Harris. Not one Democrat voted for trump because they don't believe in trans rights.
Culturally, many thousands of Latinos/Latinas and black men/women simply do not believe a woman should be POTUS. I find it fascinating the nobody did any polling about that issue.
I'm sure that there were people who voted based on the reasons you cited, but I don't think there's any credible denying that a significant number of centrists do not like the direction that woke progressivism is trying to push the country.
I hate trump and fear the potential effects of MAGA on the future of the country as much as anyone. I voted for Harris because I don't feel she's as progressive as the right made her out to be. I did not vote for Harris.
Biden was just too old.
I'd have loved for him to have looked and acted more vigorous, and I'd have voted for him had he stayed in. But people saw him shuffling when he walked and stammering his words, etc and they just didn't have confidence in his ability anymore.
I never thought he was mentally impaired and I still don't.
But image is everything and Biden's image was just not youthful enough to carry him to another win and major donors were threatening to back out.
Nothing else could've been done.
He should've stepped down a year earlier.
