Chavez On Private Schools: Teach Socialism or Face Takeover

Oh please. I don't think I've seen a thread with so much faux outrage in my life. No one is condoning it and no one supports it what he's done. Pardon the hell out of us for placing US policies and foreign relations over Venezuelen Civics Classes.
 
This is a US centric site, not a US exclusive site.

I've discussed British politics before with Charver and Any and it hasn't pissed anyone off. We also often discuss China, middle easter politics, history... anything that basically has to do with "current events". There currently aren't many interesting current issues in the US we aren't talking about, so why not?

Anyway, think about it. Private schools. Socialism. Can you think of anything that would piss a conservative off more? It has "private" in the name, hello.

Sorry. School policy and curriculum in Venezuelan, Britain, France, China, or Kuwait just doesn't interest me. I'm being honest. But, carry on if foreign school policy interests you.

The only extent to which I pretty much care about venezeula, is when it relates to american foreign policy or world trade.
 
Hmm lets talk about how many other countries education systems blows the socks off the US system.
How that we only require around an 8th grade level to graduate HS ?

All the remedial education in our colleges ?

And just what is teaching socialism in schools ? Teaching that all should pay for the school systems ?

Our public schools are allowed to teach what they want ? ever hear of NCLB ?

First off he's forcing Private schools to teach socialism. If you need to ask what socialism is and how it would be taught i.e. - anti-capitalism, then I don't know what to tell you.

What about NCLB? That does not tell public schools they can teach anything they want. In fact its almost the exact opposite which is the complaint about it.

Where are your questions coming from?

Umm that sounds pretty much like the education system we have in the USA.

His opponents accuse of indoctrinating the young with socialism. Where are the facts in the matter ? the fact is that Hugo is forcing schools to meet a national standard like we do here.

A. We don't force private schools to meet the requirements of NCLB. There is a difference between Public and Private. You are aware of that correct?

Maybe being a socialist at heart you don't see the problem with forced teaching of socialism.

So what you want is if a public school does not meet NCLB they should get to go to a school that does not enforce NCLB ? That is fing brilliant logic there Sherlock.
