Chavez On Private Schools: Teach Socialism or Face Takeover

First off, you're a moron who clearly quoted the wrong thing.

Secondly, clearly no answer will satisfy you and I do not give a shit about proving to you whether or not I supported Bush in 2000. I frankly don't care what you believe. I've told you the facts and you can choose to accept them or not.

Good for you! You are catching on to where you stand with me.

Warren, weren't you like 12 in 2000, anyway?

Yup. Which is why I can honestly answer that I did not vote for Bush.

I probably would have voted for him in 2000, with his promises of privatizing Social Security and no national building and foreign entanglements. Glad I didn't though. I would have voted third party in 2004. I couldn't vote for Kerry.

Don't blame me. I was disenfranchised!

Haha more or less.

Seriously though I'm glad I don't have to share blame for voting Bush in 2000. If I could have voted he probably could have suckered me in with his worthless campaign promises. I would have most likely voted Libertarian in both 2000 and 2004 though.

One of the major arguments against a governmental education system in early times was that it may be used by the government to indoctrinate the children with it's ideology. And it has many times in the past been used like that.

Luckily, it's rarely if ever an effective tactic.f

Why are you carrying on the conversation as if it were addressed to you?

That was the argument for public schools. Dewey was explicit on it.

Umm I think the parents deserve some responsibility as well.
Then too punishment used to be allowed in school.

It's about indcotrination.

“We must train socially minded people to help the community, and that’s why the revolution’s socialist program is being implemented,” said Zulay Campos, a member of a Bolivarian State Academic Commission that evaluates compliance with academic guidelines. “If they attack us because we’re indoctrinating, well yes, we’re doing it, because those capitalist ideas that our young people have — and that have done so much damage to our people — must be eliminated.”

Even so it is their country. Who are we to tell someone else how to run their own country.

we will continue to buy oil from them as well.

Bravo Chavez Bravo :cheer:

It's THEIR country .. Chavez is VERY popular .. and THEY should be able to do whatever THEY want.

If the Venezulan people disagree with him, then they can get rid of him .. and THEIR elections have FAR more integrity than elections in America.

Yay, The Hitl... Chavez youth! It's not the Chavez's country and even if a simple majority approve, public schools should not be for indoctrination.

You don't read too well.

Besides, you're a libertarian .. what the fuck do you care about schools?

You just reassert your position. It's not Chavez's country to do with as he chooses. Even if a majority agrees that does not justify suppression of the minority. Venezuela is not a single consciusness, regardless of nationalistic platitudes.

This is how the concept of a democracy as it's own justification crumbles. If the majority can do whatever it likes, they can use the state to suppress and even outlaw minority views.

Besides, you're a libertarian .. what the fuck do you care about schools?

Is this supposed to make some sort of sense?
