Most of us who have had window seats on flights have seen the vapor pouring off the jet's wing and streaming away, esp. during warm humid weather. Only psychotics think that it's anything more sinister.

Try putting a dry cleaning bag over your head to protest you from the droplets. It helps if you also tie a rope snuggly around your neck to prevent any "bad" air from getting in. :thup:

Contrails have been with us as long as flight. The cooler the air(higher up) with jet engines make it more severe, but it is completely normal.

This is only done if an emergency landing is necessary, and a quick return to the original airport is required shortly after takeoff, or a landing short of the original destination. The fuel only evaporates it the plane is at altitude. If the plane is not at altitude, the fuel can reach the ground. For this reason, low altitude fuel dumps can only be performed in a designated area.

Having said that, the whole "chemtrail" conspiracy is bunk.
