Colleges Wonder if They Will Be ‘the Enemy’ Under Trump

Correct. It is not.

However the concept that education is unnecessary in all walks of life is equally wrong as well.
I'm a huge proponent for education. It is the quickest way to increase your income over your lifetime. I suspect I'm among the top 3-4 most highly educated people on this forum and I have been very financially successful. There is at least one poster on this forum that does not have a college degree but who is very smart based on the content of his posts.

Something tells me you have a relatively thin connection to academe.
Just like a leftist to talk about something without any facts. You clearly need a urologist to tell you when to piss that's why your so enamored with academe. What I love most is how aggregated you knuckleheads get over this issue.

Nope. I've seen plenty of people who manifestly don't know the first foreign thing about basic science holding forth with their uninformed opinions on both of those things.
Well I'm kinda new here but you'll find I never miss someone trying to shift the context.

You having the opinion that certain people speaking on climate change and vaccination are uneducated does not qualify as:

Those same people claiming education is unnecessary in all walks of life.

If you were to have read all my posts this morning you'd see I agree that education is NOT necessary for everything.

But by the same token a LACK of education does not make things good either.

The example I gave was one wherein the Right constantly denigrates education and expertise in a topic they manifestly know nothing about.

In that case their lack of education is actually a BAD thing.

No, they say the people you call experts aren't really experts. Or they say that the people you call experts are experts in a fake academic field, like gender studies.

That is patently different from attacking education or academia as a concept.

This follows the pattern of "Assert they're wrong, then point out a contradiction that only exists if they're wrong.".

Like "Biden wants to have sex with little girls, anyone who disagrees is defending pedophilia"

It's a hybrid of begging the question and strawman.

It’s what people who say climate change is a hoax or who won’t get their kids vaccinated do. It’s pretty common

Aren't Democrats well educated and Republicans uneducated?

Parents who don't vaccinate kids tend to be affluent, better educated, experts say

The decision to fly in the face of near universal scientific opinion doesn't come as a result of a lack of intellect, however, as experts who have studied vaccines and immunology acknowledge that many parents who don't vaccinate their children are well-educated.

I know people who graduated college and are not very smart. I also know people who have not graduated college and are very smart. A formal education is not the sole measure of intelligence.

In a perfect world countries would not subsidize their industries and then dump products onto the world. China has devastated our steel industry by dumping low price steel onto our market. I think tariffs are needed to level the playing field at times.
I suppose there could be some correlation between education level and how well informed a voter is but I agree with you, I don't think that's a steadfast thing.

Politically, for a long time it was the working class who made up the base of the Democratic Party. These are the types that today they are referring to as 'low information voters'. (It's possible they thought the same back then but didn't say anything because they voted they way they wanted them too)

On average. But that isn't what we are talking about.

Like I said, this isn't a left-right thing.

Stupidity is stupidity. Ignoring expertise is stupidity.

You need to reread my post.

The point is Democrats apparently are more likely not to vaccinate their kids.

Washington state, which voted for Harris, had a big problem with measles because educated mothers stopped giving their kids vaccines. I'm very pro most vaccines BTW. Just got this year's flu vaccine yesterday.

And conservatives are more likely to disbelieve climate change. And evolution.

Stupidity knows no party.
Most conservatives that I know believe in climate change but are smart enough to realize we have always had climate change that is the reason the Antarctic has coal deposits. And the Sahara used to have lots of water. The question is are we causing climate change or not.
