Colorado Lawmaker Switches Parties

Even if every D voted for someobody they still wouldn't have even Gore's 48% of the vote.

Most of those who made the difference were "independents" like uscit is supposedly...

I am truley independent but make no claims about being an idependent, since that is also a political party. Whose ranks have recently grown with embaressed Bush supporters.

Damo both you and cawacko are ignoring the fact that I was against the Iraq debacle before it become an official party stance....

the majority of the country was letting their emotions and the pundit cheerleaders lead them while I was truely my own man.

No, it is not a party. It is a way to register without claiming a party. Being a RINO does not make you a Republican any more than me registering D would make me suddenly start supporting Unionizing my company.

And so was I, that does not make it seem any less like an indication that you are not, have never been, and cannot really claim to be anything other than a Democrat in RINO clothes.

wrong Independent is a party. Now some states do allow you to register unafilliated, KY does not.

It is not a party. Only Independants can "declare" a party to vote at a closed primary. Because they are not a part of either party. Believe me, I know this. I have spent many, many hours ensuring fair voting procedure in Colorado.

Ohh I am not saying that the democrats do not agree with me on many issues :D

remember now I was against Bush and many dems voted for him. I was against the invasion of Iraq and meny dems supported it. They are just catching up with me.

Touche' ;)

well I do not live in CO now do I. In KY if I register as independent I can only vote for independent party candidates in the primary.

It doesn't matter which "Party" uscit was registered in. He is still a Democrat through and through, pretending otherwise is pretense only when he only supports Democratic positions on any issue I have ever seen.

Not just "part of the time" but every time. Attempting to say that you are somehow independant of a party is lame.

When does, and where does the "Independant Party" hold their caucus? Which of their "candidates" have funding from this "Party" apparatus?

Where is the "Independant National Committee"? What part of "not in an actual party" is difficult for you to understand about "independant"?

I have no idea Damo, since I am not registered as independent party in KY.
all I know is my voting registration form and rules.
At least I have done better than Coulter, I wonder how her voting fraud turned out ?

But maybe uscitizen is right and you are too quick to judge, I mean after all the guy only has 20000+ posts, I mean come on man, give him more time!

Sheesh, now the ignarumus has shown up on this thread. Outta here have a good weekend to all.
btw damo pays me .02 per post :D

Colorado Lawmaker Switches Parties

By STEVEN K. PAULSON
Associated Press Writer

DENVER (AP) -- A state representative abruptly left the Republican Party and became a Democrat, the first time in 20 years that a Colorado lawmaker has switched parties.

Rep. Debbie Stafford, 55, who also is a minister, said the Republican Party no longer represents her values.

Remember the southern migration to the Republican party?

Now the opposite is happening out west. God bless them for coming to their senses and undoing our (the souths) crime against the nation.

LOL, you must have missed the earlier part of this thread, this lady is not switching because of that.

It depends on the state. Some states don't allow independents to vote in primaries, which makes being an independent pointless as all it does is rob you of voting power. Then again, the states that allow independents to vote in any primary make registering to a party pretty much pointless, also.

The whole democratic sytem in general is just a brainwash measuring mechanism. They will do what they want ultimately, but they still want to brainwash people into their agenda, preferably, because mind control is ultimately a more complete form of power. The voter turnout indicates the degree to which people feel invested in the delusion of a government "for the people". The Two party system allows them to divide good and bad ideas amongst two equally split parties to test them out on the people, but still maintain control through triangulation. And when both parties agree on something you can be guaranteed it's a bad bad thing.
