"Equally split"?

True, but they are not a party of their own.It depends on the state. Some states don't allow independents to vote in primaries, which makes being an independent pointless as all it does is rob you of voting power. Then again, the states that allow independents to vote in any primary make registering to a party pretty much pointless, also.
Anyway here's the news.
She struck a deal with the top Ds in the Senate. She wants to run for her Senate District, different than my district. Seems odd but her congressional district isn't fully in my Senate District, her Senate District is strongly Democrat, ergo a switch in party.
In order to get their agreement, she has agreed to switch parties now, then early next year to resign her Congressional Seat to run for the Senate Seat. This allows the Democrats to replace her from their State Central Committee thus enabling them to have an encumbant running in what would normally be a Republican District.
This, I believe will bite both the Democrats and her in the election.
Let me see if I can predict this.
1. She gets the nomination at the Primary, and about two days later videos of her trashing homosexuals, speaking anti-abortion, speaking pro-war, promoting her agenda to get elected comes out.
2. The R Party nominates a more centrally aligned R.
3. The Ds lose the Senate seat.
4. The one who replaces her gets smeared with a bit of the political detritus.
5. The Rs regain the Congressional seat.
