When I was a little kid, I remember going to bed at night and waking up to election results.
You would think that the technology we have now, as opposed to what we had, say, 45 or 50 years ago, would allow us to get results even faster than that.
That can be solved by national standards. We let states run elections.States rights is a race to the LCD. Alaska has ranked voting. That guarantees a slow count since it requires repeated counts. Of course Covid resulted in many more mail-in ballots at drop boxes. We could facilitate the count by tabulating them as they come in. But some states forbid counting until election day. That results in a huge backlog of votes . It is obvious that someone is trying to make our voting look bad and therefore rightys can go nuts lying about it's security.
