i watched the video as the health issue is near and dear to my home...if you will remember my posts a couple of weeks ago WM...and for those that know me personally on this board and dp and usmb....they know of my family member's recent passing and the situation
subject united health care
1. the claim about the CEO making 1 out of every 700 dollars:
i call bs as that means h/c industry took in only about 2.3 billion. calling foul over a 3.2 mill salary for a CEO of a top insurance company is stupid. considering what that insurance co pays out and makes, 3.2 is squat.
2. 1/4 of the CEO's earnings would cover the treatment or every minute his earnings would cover treatment:
red herring...how about some of the wealth and earnings from prominent dems...soros, brangelina, kerry's has some duckets...kennedy's....why is this about only that person's wealth? why should his and no one else's wealth be mentioned?
3. medically unnecessary
this i have a problem with. who are they to claim such? if one or more independent doctors says so, then ok, but not some insurance employee. shit, someone hits your car and assuming all covered by ins....you have a "right" in california to have the car fixed at a shop of your choosing, they may dicker over final price or you can get everything done at a preferred shop. in nearly every instance, the shop makes "medical" diagnosis for your car and the insurance pays. if this is so for a car.....
4. 102K per hour for the ceo
calling bs....first they said 3.2 mill....then 1 out of every 700....then 102K per hour....assuming avg work week that comes to over 200 million...
5. "make" 3/4 of a billion in stock
false...those are options
6. the EMOTIONAL appeal
i don't have a problem with this, however, i have often been accused of this by dems when talking about some conservative issues....seems ok for dems, but no one else. with that said....there is a problem in this country regarding h/c....nothing in the constitution makes h/c a right....you would have to interpret that into the constitution. a whole argument could ensue from this, especially given the vast differences in medical care today and when the founders were alive. what is the answer? i've posited some plans i think would work. are they a fix all.....most likely not. is obama's the ONLY plan...most likely not.
unfortunately the dems have now turned this into political football. if you don't support it, you're EVIL, you're an OBSTRUCTIONIST, you're ANTI AMERICAN....you know, the same things dems complained the repubs did....
fuck politics for moment....what is the answer
