Conservatives: fighting for your freedom to pay money to useless insurance CEO's

i watched the video as the health issue is near and dear to my home...if you will remember my posts a couple of weeks ago WM...and for those that know me personally on this board and dp and usmb....they know of my family member's recent passing and the situation

subject united health care

1. the claim about the CEO making 1 out of every 700 dollars:

i call bs as that means h/c industry took in only about 2.3 billion. calling foul over a 3.2 mill salary for a CEO of a top insurance company is stupid. considering what that insurance co pays out and makes, 3.2 is squat.

2. 1/4 of the CEO's earnings would cover the treatment or every minute his earnings would cover treatment:

red herring...how about some of the wealth and earnings from prominent dems...soros, brangelina, kerry's has some duckets...kennedy's....why is this about only that person's wealth? why should his and no one else's wealth be mentioned?

3. medically unnecessary

this i have a problem with. who are they to claim such? if one or more independent doctors says so, then ok, but not some insurance employee. shit, someone hits your car and assuming all covered by ins....you have a "right" in california to have the car fixed at a shop of your choosing, they may dicker over final price or you can get everything done at a preferred shop. in nearly every instance, the shop makes "medical" diagnosis for your car and the insurance pays. if this is so for a car.....

4. 102K per hour for the ceo

calling bs....first they said 3.2 mill....then 1 out of every 700....then 102K per hour....assuming avg work week that comes to over 200 million...

5. "make" 3/4 of a billion in stock

false...those are options

6. the EMOTIONAL appeal

i don't have a problem with this, however, i have often been accused of this by dems when talking about some conservative issues....seems ok for dems, but no one else. with that said....there is a problem in this country regarding h/c....nothing in the constitution makes h/c a right....you would have to interpret that into the constitution. a whole argument could ensue from this, especially given the vast differences in medical care today and when the founders were alive. what is the answer? i've posited some plans i think would work. are they a fix all.....most likely not. is obama's the ONLY plan...most likely not.

unfortunately the dems have now turned this into political football. if you don't support it, you're EVIL, you're an OBSTRUCTIONIST, you're ANTI AMERICAN....you know, the same things dems complained the repubs did....

fuck politics for moment....what is the answer

An emotional appeal backed up with facts is the most effective argument possible. Righties just about only make an emotional appeal. Lefties pretty much only make factual appeals. The lefties have to figure out how to combine the two if they want to win this battle.

My sister recently got dropped from our health coverage because she's too old. Too fucking bad! Get a job! Who cares if you want a masters degree! If she has serious medical conditions, it will definitely put her life in risk. She's already putting off healthcare decisions because of the cost of going to the doctor.

problem is....i showed how your vid did not have all facts

seriously, you're better than this, i've seen your debates....this is weak kneed pike on head bullshit. i just spent time listening your video, arguing facts with no emotional appeal....EXCEPT for the emotion that i said makes me interested in this topic....do us all a favor and actually read what people say, especially when they tell you they watched your 6 minute video and gave you a response to that video. fair enough......

oh no...there is no emotional appeal here...oh no

are you going to take this serious or not? i admit to hack behavior in some threads and some issues, but i really was dead serious about fuck politics for a moment....

Ok, so we have a problem where there is a gap between people who qualify for Medicaid and people who can actually afford insurance.

We also have insurance companies who can deny coverage or charge absorbent rates for those who have preexisting conditions.

If we're going to seriously talk about this, can we agree on those two points?

yes

So, on the second point, isn't it a viable option to have the government step in and eliminate denial of coverage for those with preexisting conditions?

If your answer is no, what do you think the solution is? The free market seems to have no answer to this.

seems typical of most of the liberals here....when confronted with facts about their claims or when given a chance to actually explain their beliefs....

you get a big fat zero...don't bother watching WM's links, he won't actually discuss the facts, he just wants you blindly accept that he is right

good points....

i don't know if it is the government's responsibility to step in....i don't believe we are guaranteed h/c under the constitution....the dem answer always seems to be:

well if the so called free market isn't working...then government is the only option...

I'm not a Democrat and I didn't say that the free market has no solutions.

I'm saying that this is a problem that the free market doesn't have a solution for. It's more profitable to not insure someone who already has a disease or illness.

I've offered up government regulation as the best option to fix this problem. How do you feel about that? What other options do you suggest to fix it?

Where in our constitution says everyone has a right to be insured? or everyone has a right for the Government to provide health care.?

Have people become so lazy that they can't take responsibly for anything in their lives...instead just whine and bitch, life isn't fair..

Though I am a proponent of UHC, where did I discuss that at all in this thread? We're not talking about UHC at all.

We're on the topic of how to fix the problem of covering those with preexisting health conditions. I don't see a market solution to the problem and would like the government to regulate the market in a way that disallows insurance companies from charging exorbitant rates or outright denying coverage to those with preexisting conditions.

If you don't like UHC that's totally fine, but we're not talking about that.

Why should insurance companies insure people with preexisting conditions?

you libs, are in favor of people who smoke to be taxed to high heaven, because according to you...they are a DRAIN on the health care system..

yet you expect a insurance company to take it in the shorts, because you all whine and complain about paying your own bills..

so of course, in rides the "Obama" administration to save the day...he'll just Nationalize our whole health care system to insure a few....yippee..

I love it when people try to put insurance companies in the role of "victim."

Insurance companies suck. Most have quotas for coverage denial.

of course they suck for you Progressives...any business that makes a profit doesn't fit into your Plan...
buy making the insurance companies the boogeyman, that fits into the plan for the hostile take over of our health care system...

we survived all these years with insurance companies and people buying their own insurance, but the Hugo and his crooked administration ride into town, and all of a sudden, insurance companies SUCK..

You survived, meme. A lot of people did NOT. You're ignorance on this is staggering.

Do you know how many people get denied coverage every year, simply because insurance companies have quotas for denial (so, they get denied for no good reason, except that it helps reps hit the quota)? Do you know how many of those people can't get life-saving procedures as a result, and die?

Keep spouting your stupidity & ignorance....

Do you ever attempt to debate?

See, a non-retard would have engaged Oncy by answering his questions.
