A 29-year-old driver was issued a battery of charges ranging from fleeing police to driving under the influence after he allegedly crashed into four vehicles Sunday and tried to run from the scene on the Magnificent Mile, police said.


The crash happened in the 800 block of North Michigan Avenue about 4 p.m., said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti.


Reggie Thompson-Seay Jr., of the 3600 block of South Rhodes was charged with felony aggravated fleeing. He appeared in Cook County bond court today and was ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bail.


He also was charged with the following misdemeanor counts: driving under the influence, attempt to elude police, failing to notify damage to an unattended vehicle, resisting a peace officer, driving without ever having been issued a license and possession of cannabis.


He also was also issued with six traffic violation citations including driving on the sidewalk, negligent driving and others.


According to police, four vehicles were struck.

Two men in their 20s have been charged with gunning down a Cook County sheriffs' investigator as he tried to stop them from robbing his daughter and her boyfriend outside a holiday party, authorities said.


Brandon Jackson and Gage Thornton, both 22, are each charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted armed robbery in the death of Officer Cuauhtemoc Estrada, 50.

A 11-year-old boy died when a police chase went wrong and he was hit by a stolen car.


Donovan Turnage was killed instantly when the car he was in was hit but his brother Derrick, 20, and his father both survived.


The alleged driver of the stolen car was Rockie Douglas, 34, according to police who have launched an appeal to any witnesses.

A woman was found stabbed and beaten to death in her home on Christmas Eve and her 17-year-old son has been charged with the crime.


William Brandon Aydelott was arrested Tuesday night and charged with premeditated murder in the death of his mother, Sharon Aydelott, a teacher.

A Lake Luzerne woman was killed on Christmas eve. The suspect, identified as Clifford R. Burns, 46, was arrested after a car chase.



Patricia Burns was a nurse’s assistant who had worked in hospice care.



The family dealt with tragedy on Dec. 27, 2010, when Patricias’ 15-year-old daughter from a previous relationship died in her sleep.

Three people are being held in connection with a man whose body was found in a burning vehicle last week.


Authorities said Tuesday that Christopher Todd Cagle, 28, Delia May Downs, 33, and Michael Stanley Townsel Jr., 28 are all charged with kidnapping and have $1 million bonds.


Authorities said they are still gathering information in the death of Gary Lee Willis, 38, and plan to charge them with murder.

Detectives are investigating a murder suicide in a quiet neighborhood early Christmas morning.


Family members have identified the husband and wife as 36-year-old Violeta Aragon and 40-year-old John Lim.


Officials say Lim shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself around 2 a.m. Wednesday.


The couples' four children and the womans' parents were all inside the home when the incident occurred. Only one child witnessed the shooting.


Alameda County officials confirm that the motive behind this tragedy was infidelity.

A kidnapped Jefferson City boy and the man accused of taking him have been found dead in an apparent murder-suicide, according to police and media reports.



Police issued an Amber Alert for Markell Beasley, 6, after Demitrius Beasley, 40, was granted permission by the boys' mother to take Markell to a holiday party.



The mother found later that there was no party and Demitrius Beasley had no intent on bringing the child back, according to a release from the Jefferson City Police Department.

A federal jury in Philadelphia returned historic verdicts in the case against a notorious drug gang leader — a man responsible for crimes that shocked the community.



The jury convicted Kaboni Savage of 12 murders, the most in modern Philadelphia history, and then sentenced him to death — the first death penalty in this federal district since the penalty was reinstated in 1988.



The murders included six victims in a single stunning act of violence in 2004: Savage ordered the firebombing of the home of a witness against him. The blaze killed the witnesss' mother, baby son, and four others.

A Bronx nurse was indicted Wednesday for decking a disabled patient at a nursing home — a brutal beatdown that was captured on surveillance video.


Lennox Seymour then falsely reported that the 55-year-old victim attacked him after he confiscated a carton of milk, officials said.


“The defendant, a licensed caregiver, was entrusted with the protection and well-being of a disabled nursing home resident,” Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said. “He violated that trust by attacking his own patient.”


Seymour, 46, of Nanuet, N.Y., is charged with endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person and making a false report.

Schquita Alaysha Warren, 27, of Pensacola thought she was calling a client named “Sam” when she dialed the work cell phone of on-duty Escambia County Sheriff’s Investigator Robert Greene, authorities said.

A sex offender accused of killing two women and raping children pleaded guilty on Monday to hundreds of charges, crying when some of his surviving victims addressed him.

A young mother who lived above a Ronkonkoma banquet hall was charged Monday with neglecting her children so badly that one of them starved to death and the other, a 2-year-old, weighed just 15 pounds when police arrived.


Louisa Givens, 21, was indicted on a charge of second-degree manslaughter in the death of her younger child, Kayden Givens, a 10-month-old boy, on May 19.


He weighed 13 pounds and had been dead for hours when Suffolk police responded.
