CRT Controversy. Does it really matter what we teach in high school?!

Thanks for proving my point.

You have none. Are you saying we should not discuss slavery in American history classes? That is not teaching history. It is evading it. You do not want our future generations to know our history. You want it all whitewashed. You cannot get your fill of propaganda and want others to learn from that too.

Schools have never taught about redlining or how banks and justice are institutionally suppressing minorities.

And you're entitled to babble incoherently.
That's not necessary...look for katzger or evince if you want to see incoherent babbling, though...;)
Does your local HS still have AP classes? Relaxed graduation requirements? Attendance policies?

Schools teach about slavery....You'd like "redlining and how banks and justice are institutionally suppressing minorities" taught in school? Just exactly how does that lesson go?;)

Why would they teach that in public schools? You love being a troll, don't you?

I am glad I learned grammar and math in high school. But history? Most of it was forgettable bullshit. Can't think of anything worthwhile they taught in history class.

Most of the history I learned was in college or stuff I studied on my own.

The Critical Race Theory seems pretty pointless as a controversy.

I was very lucky to have had a great American History teacher in High School. My teacher- Dr. Lomas achieves his doctorates degree while I was in his class.

He was so different than any other teacher I had, as he lectured our class. Every day we would have a lecture. Most of the questions on his tests came from his lectures- not the Textbook. We used the textbook for homework only. Homework was always, "Just read the next chapter in your textbook"! We never knew if he was Republican or Democrat! He never talked about politics.

But for one hour every day, every student was wide awake in class and there was a lot of class participation. Everyone enjoyed those lectures because Dr. Lomas made the lectures most interesting. Just about everyone in his History class made straight A's, because his classes were a step up from High School- actually felt like college classes to us.

Of course he went on to teach at SMU, and he was sorely missed at Mesquite High after he was gone. Best teacher we ever had!

I have taught history myself in junior high. Years ago. The principle told me the school did not allow to teach critical thinking.

You will not get a cogent answer (if any at all) from the JPP dimlibs. What you will receive are multiple inane amalgamations of words interspersed with POTTY MOUTH ... which is all they are capable of.

There is a lot of critical thinking about American History- The plight of the Black Man- The plight of the American Indian- The Plight of the Japanese Americans during WWII- The Gang Wars of New York during the 19th Century- The plight of American Women- Just to name a few!

There is no reason to not have critical thinking in High School level American History. It is a Boon not a Bust!

I've never understood why the Trumptards think this is something negative.

But, come to think of it, do they ever think about what's right about anything?

Conservative parents don't know much about anything. Kids coming home challenging orthodoxies scares them.

Your logical fallacy is "straw man".

My understanding is that CRT is too complex for K-12 and only taught in college. Fox News just likes to whine and bitch.
