I would offer the alternate observation that only the Republicans have migrated to extremes.

If we have the vision to look at things from a global perspective,
the most ardently progressive Democrats are only offering ideas long ago implemented in more socially advanced nations.

Stability is better than chaos, but a reasonable stability is prefered. Sometimes rocking the boat is good, but most of the time it's not. Overturning the boat is completely unacceptable. The Republicans continue to fuck themselves because they are avoiding discussing Trump tried to overturn the boat...with the support of several members of Congress.
