The fact is the Supremes are trying to save the reputation of the court by doing the right thing. Trump has exhausted all the remedies allowed and he came to the court with no case. It was rejected as such. Trump was given so many opportunities to prove his case and it proved he has nothing. The Supremes do not want to waste their time.
