It is a numbers game, and you can stop the spread of viruses. It is looking more and more like we will fail in the long run to stop the spread of Covid-19, but we can certainly slow it down, and stop it for short amounts of time. And that is good, because this is very much a numbers game.

The numbers are hundreds of thousands, millions globally, of lives that can be saved.
