You know nothing. Riddle me this...if we have over 70% "fully vaxxed" in this country then how are people still crowding the hospitals? I know what you're going to say, you're going to say it's the fault of the "un-vaxxed" but herd immunity starts at 60% so...what say you?

This is simple math. Let's take a look at an example using the Delta variant:

Vaccinated people are five times less likely to be infected with the Delta variant. This is a fact. If you don't accept it as fact, please skip posting here and pick up a book instead.

The R0 of Delta with no mitigation factors is somewhere around 5-7, let's go with five for this exercise:

Okay, now lets start. 200 people are exposed to a person the Delta variant, 100 are vaccinated, 100 are unvaccinated. Given the delta and the efficacy of the vaccines:

7 unvaccinated people will get the variant
2 vaccinated people will get the variant (I'm erring on the side of caution, it's actually less than two)

If the group had been 100 percent vaccinated, 3 people would have gotten the virus, instead of nine. Each iteration increases the infection exponentially. This is simple math. Three is less than nine. Therefore vaccines slow the spread. If enough people are vaccinated, and additional mitigation is used, the R0 will quickly drop below 1.

Now please prove to us all that IF when the Covid-19 virus had first landed in America?

That if NOTHING had been done to stop it spread except offer those over 60 and/or with weakened systems (i.e. - almost the only people whom are at threat of dying from the virus) financial assistance to self-quarantine?
And the virus had been allowed to freely run around the nation and infect almost everyone who was in little to no risk of dying of it?

Can you prove to us all that this would not have resulted in herd immunity and thus ended the virus - in essence - in America...naturally?

Yes or no, please?



BTW - this is more or less EXACTLY what was done in America during the Hong Kong flu and the Asian flu (which the WHO says killed about 4 million people - each).
