"Defund The Police": Maybe The Most Counter-Productive Progressive Policy Yet

So a crazy man just shot 3 police officers in Flower Mound Texas yesterday. My son's SWAT team was activated to the scene. The FBI SWAT team was also activated to the scene. The FBI SWAT team got the guy out. Who knew all we needed was a social worker.

I sure love strawmen! ;)

I'm not a big "defund the cops" guy for a progressive liberal,
but I would have much preferred to read Marinara's profound words rather than the cut and paste article.
Wordsmithing of that quality would have had far greater impact.

There are no links because there are no such proposals.
So were cut police budgets and they still need to keep officers on the streets and they don't cut extra programs like SWAT to make up for budget shortfalls? I need proof your word is not enough. I guess we could have a Social Worker Advance Team respond to situations like this.

I found this at least. Nothing of what you claimed.

Most of the proposals target cuts in the police department's SWAT team, encampment removal team and mounted unit.

But you made a definitive statement that it would not happen. You have no proof of that statement.

What you posted supports what I said. With budget reductions extra programs like SWAT might be on the chopping block.

You made a definitive statement that it will happen. You don't have proof of that statement. See how that works?

You made a claim that the SWAT teams will be eliminated. I said they won't be eliminated. You asked me for proof. How can I provide a proof when there is no such proposals that support your claim?

Do you honestly think they will eliminate the SWAT teams? HONESTLY?

Are you drinking again???? Where did I make a definitive statement??? Give me my quote.. Its early in the day to catch you in a false statement

Yes I honestly think some extra programs like SWAT may be canceled specially if they have a low call out record. SWAT is one of those things that may not be needed often but when they are their training can save lives.

First you made a sarcasm (AKA strawman. ;) ):

After I pointed it out, you said:

Well if we defunded the police there may be no SWAT teams. Are do you just love men. A social worker that deals with a domestic disturbance like this one would be a sitting duck.

Then I said:

No. SWAT teams will not be eliminated.

Then you asked me how I know, implying that it was YOUR claim in the first place. ;)

I realize that you used the word, "may". The problem with your claim is there have been no such proposals. Who the hell wants to see the SWAT teams disappear?
