I don't know if Trump has the conviction it takes to be a dedicated fascist. At a minimum, however, he's an authoritarian, provided the authoritarian is himself.

He was smart enough to know that wouldn't fly, or he would have. I'm not saying Trump is or was an authoritarian in fact, just in wishful thinking. He succeeded in bringing the country down but not yet that far down.
